Our History

Taylor Battistella, the Founding President of the Club puts the firsts steps to starting the club into motion, with the club's Twitter account being created.

The first call is put out to Melbourne Milanisti regarding starting a potential club.

The first committee meeting takes place upstairs at University Café, Lygon St. Taylor Battistella, Edward Gusman, Declan Seca, Simon Girardo and Randall Simmons are present.

First event: The club hosted its first event on 16/10/17 at 5:45 AM at Café Notturno. The game was the Milan Derby, and approximately 60-70 people were in attendance. Although we went down following an Icardi penalty in the final moments, the future looks bright for Milan in Melbourne.

Official registration as an incorporated association in Australia.

We finish our first season with 62 paying members and hundreds of event attendees.

We organised and won the First Annual Melbourne Italian Fan Clubs Cup – beating Inter 3-2 in the final. Whilst we are primarily concerned with building the Milan Supporter Community in Melbourne we bear a sub-responsibility to assit and grow the entire Italian Fan Club Community.

We hosted club legend - Daniele Massaro - at 400 Gradi for a club dinner. It was a great night, that was enjoyed by all and everyone in attendance got the chance to intimately meet one of their legends.

Our first event back from a strict lockdown following the challenging Covid-19 Pandemic.

Joint event with CLUB NAPOLI UNM MELBOURNE. Building strong relationships with all supporter clubs to strengthen the overall Italian community in Melbourne.

Held a stall at the Lygon Festa, first one back since the Covid-19 Pandemic. Met many members of the Italian community.

Milan v Sassuolo Event - a massive highlight, our biggest live event ever, where we won the league and had over 75 Milan fans in one room at 4:00am sharing all the emotions. An unforgettable night!

We hosted the Scudetto Celebration and Fondazione Milan Charity Event after the memorable season which was campaign 2021-22. We celebrated our first title in 11 years by hosting a gala dinner, culminating in the raffling of a SIGNED IBRAHIMOVIC JERSEY personally picked up from Milano by our president. All proceeds went towards Fondazione Milan's "Sports for Change" project. We raised close to $2000 AUD on the night.

First ever UEFA Champions League Event - Milan v Chelsea

We hosted and organised the Melbourne Italian Fan Club's Cup - collaborating with Juventus Supporter Group, Inter Club Victoria and Club Napoli UNM Melbourne. This was the biggest event of its kind, both players and supporters were present from each club. Dinner and drinks were shared after the fixtures.

We are the largest Milan Club in Australia. We host matches that are either at convenient times or against other big teams - and we aren't done there! Join us today to help us continue to grow spread Milan in Melbourne.

Milan Club Melbourne has big plans for the future. If you look at what we have achieved in the short time we have been functioning, the sky is the limit going forward. This has only been achieved thanks to the dedication of the committee members. Going forward we plan on starting a futsal team, facilitating Italian language classes and running seasonal trips to the San Siro with the ultimate goal of one day owning a clubhouse to call our very own!
