Will Pioli be Forced to Use Primavera Players?

Youth Update 1/06/20

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s calf injury has raised squad depth concerns for Milan. Ibrahimovic is the first teams only true centre forward, with Leao and Rebic considered more as support strikers.

To help fix this problem, it has been reported that Milan Manager Stefano Pioli is considering bringing Milan Primavera players Lorenzo Colombo (pictured) and Daniel Maldini into the first team.

Both players have had successful seasons to date, Colombo scoring 9 goals from 6 appearances and Maldini scoring 9 goals from 15 appearances. These strong performances lead to both receiving call ups from the Italian national U19 team.

In other youth news, Milan must decide what to do with youth star Tommaso Pobega.

The Milan youth player has been on loan at Serie B side Pordenone this season, becoming a starting player for the club and scoring 5 goals in 19 league appearances. The issue is that his loan contract with Pordenone is due to end on the 30th of June. Milan must therefore decide on whether to let him see the season out with Pordenone or whether he should return.

Either way, let's just hope that he continues to build on his strong performances.
