Updated: May 26, 2019

The last time Milan met Juventus was on the 12th November, 2018.

Milan welcomed league leaders Juventus to the San Siro having been in ominous form having won 3 league matches in a row.

In the early stages of the match Juventus put Milan on the back foot early and with their second shot on goal in the 8th minute they took a 1-0 lead thanks to a Mario Mandzukic header.

Juventus almost doubled their lead soon after, however Benatia missed a free header and Donnarumma was forced into making a save from a Mandzukic header.

It took until the 33rd minute for Milan to threaten the Juventus goal, however Susos effort on target was saved by Szczesny. After a slow start Milan grew in confidence and thanks to a controversial VAR review, were awarded a penalty just before half time.

Up stepped Higuain but his penalty was well saved by Szczesny.

During the second half Milans fortunes didn't change. Juventus were peppering the Milan goal but failed to capitalise on their chances. Ronaldo eventually put the match to bed in the 81st minute, giving Juve a 2-0 lead. Things went from bad to worse for Milan when Higuain was sent off for dissent after being cautioned for a foul.

Will Milan be able to withstand the in form Juventus and win some silverwear?
