Italian media are reporting that AC Milan have agreed personal terms with Juventus’ outcast attacker Mario Mandzukic for a January transfer. The Croatia international is a World Cup finalist and has featured and scored in the Champions League final for the Bianconeri but currently does not fit in Sarri's plans.

The attacker at 33 has played for European giants such as Bayern Munich and Atlético Madrid winning league titles in Italy and Germany. He would add a lot of experience, grit and attitude to the current Milan side giving them some fear factor.

Manchester United been monitoring his situation for a while and were considered to be in pole position for this deal however the situation is unclear now. Mandzukic is a player that everyone tends to hate but would love to have because of his ability to rile up his opponents and take advantage of the gaps created. He could be an interesting figure to have at the club to mentor the likes of Rebic and Piatek as well as to support Milan chase of the fourth spot.

Gazzetta dello sport claimed on Thursday that Milan could be forced to sell a star player in January to offset the huge losses, with Piatek mentioned alongside Gianluigi Donnarumma and Suso.

According to media though, the Poland international is not a player that Milan consider to be expendable.

They claim that the 24-year-old has ‘shown a desire for revenge’ and is ‘convinced that the criticisms that have rained down on him have been ungenerous’.

Milan are also willing to show Piatek confidence, so much so that he will not be put on the market.
