Stefano Pioli took over the bench at AC Milan just a few days ago but the rumour mill is already in full force.
There are three reports circulating on the requests of the new manager to be reunited with some of his former players. The first report discusses the possibility of Milan pursuing Ever Banega who played under Pioli at Inter Milan. The attacking midfielder had a tough time in Italy before being shipped back to Spain. The midfielder has a deal expiring next summer and can be a cheap depth player for Milan.
The second report sees Pioli requesting is former box-to-box midfielder and Milan target Marco Benassi from Fiorentina. The midfielder has fallen out of favour under Vincenzo Montella but was a regular starter for Pioli. He could be another key depth player for the midfield.
The third report from is that Pioli wants to add a more defensive minded midfielder to his crop at Milan and will turn to Inter Milan bench warmer Roberto Gagliardini to support his style. The midfielder has fallen down the pecking order after the additions on Stefano Sensi and Nicolo Barella. The midfielder reportedly wants to break into the Italy squad thus needs regular playing time.
