October 22nd saw the 9th Annual “Lygon Fest” in Carlton. We were proud to have a stall at the festa just over one year after we were founded as a club. The day was huge for us, seeing a number of new members sign-up, and selling numerous merchandise items to new and old Milan fans from all over Melbourne. I’d like to give a big shout-out to new members; Jonathan Ergnini, Leonardo Pagnin, Walter Locatelli, Gianluca Henry, Edo Anzon, Anthony Niu, Amleto Mariani Luca Bottallo and Max Maltese - all who signed up on the day. Welcome!
Committee members arrived at the event from 7:30 AM to set-up the site for the 11 AM start - before staying on until after 9 PM for pack-up. I’d like to thank those involved, and especially the co-ordination of the day by events manager Ed.
The day acted as a measuring stick to show just how far we have come - in such a short period of time. To those who are already members and came to say hello on the day, thank-you! We can’t wait to be back next year and to show off how much further we will come in the next 12 months!
After selling so much merchandise at Lygon Fest, we need to order some more. Make sure to get in contact with us if you have any requests for merchandise you’d like us to make going forward. Don’t forget, we are a fan club - and act in the best interest of our members - so any feedback received is considered and taken on board with the utmost level of respect and sincerity.
I’d also like to take the time to thank everyone who came to the Inter event. Unfortunately the result didn’t go our way, but it is so great to have so many Milanisti in the same room watching our team from the other side of the world at 5:30 AM. It’s heartening to see so many people coming down to our events - irrespective of where they live or the hour of the day. The very reason the club was created was so that we could watch games together. Unfortunately time-zones don’t make this easy, but with the recent shift in times, it would be great to see every member make it down to at least one event before the end of the year - especially the Parma game which is chalked in for 10:30 PM on Sunday 2nd December.
The more people, better the experience can be. If you haven’t been able to make an event yet, perhaps look at the calendar on our site, hit going and lock in the date. If you have a friend who is a Milan fan - make sure to encourage them to sign up as a member and bring them along - so that we can continue to grow and enhance our match-day experience. We still have plenty of member packs available! We are trying to do great things for the club here in Melbourne, and really appreciate the continued support you are showing.
It’s our time Melbourne.
I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming events!
