Unfortunately, Milan went down to an energetic Porto last night. Our excess of injuries really factored into the game and with players lacking match fitness it was always going to be a tough task. The decision regarding the foul that led to the goal may have not gone our way, but with the other result in Spain finishing in our favour means there is still hope to exit the group.
Here are the ratings:
Tatarusanu 6- Goal wasn’t his fault, didn’t have many issues and would have covered most of their shots if they were on target.
Calabria 5.5- Shaky and times, some wayward passes. Tough night for him.
Kjaer 6.5- Strong at the back and showed good leadership qualities. Lovely block that directly on target.
Tomori 5.5- Getting an early yellow and having that in the back of his mind hindered any risk taking. Wasn’t his best night due to the early card.
Ballo-Toure 5.5- One of those players that needs more match fitness, very difficult for a player to adjust to the speed of these games with not much lead up football.
Bennacer 6.5- Worked hard all night, showed grit and tried to make something happen for the team.
Tonali 6- Is a new man in the Milan shirt this season, he seems to be playing every game with passion and is improving every match.
Saelemaekers 5.5- Tried hard all night but things were not going smooth for him.
Krunic 4.5- Just didn’t really show anything, was a failed experiment on Pioli’s behalf.
Leao 6- Excellent first half on the left, if we looked like we were going to score it was going to be through him. Unfortunately didn’t have the same impact in the second half.
Giroud 5- Could have done better with the headed chance, didn’t really offer much other than goal opportunity.
Ibrahimovic 5- Not his night either when he came on, got into offside positions and didn’t have an impact. I foresee him breaking Totti’s goal scoring record in the next few weeks (oldest champions league goal scorer).
Romagnoli 5- Tried when he came on and didn’t much to make an impact but didn’t make many mistakes either.
Kalulu 5- Found it hard to get into the game.
Bakayoko 4.5- Really lacked match fitness and it could be seen tonight.
Maldini N/A- Lovely tackle on the wing was a nice highlight for Daniel.
