First and foremost, we hope that you and your families are all safe and keeping yourselves entertained in these unprecedented times. While there are no games to report on, there is still plenty of club news! We are keeping a close eye on all movements, and continue to try our best to keep the spirit of the Rossoneri alive in Melbourne and Australia.
Worldwide FIFA tournament:
We were chosen as one of the entrants to take part in the first edition of the Worldwide Milan Club Fifa Tournament, organised by our friends in Canada, Milan Club Montreal. Gianmarco Tonon represented our club, where we were knocked out in the rd of 32. It was a great event, especially given the current conditions. In collaboration with our friends at Milan Club Sydney, we are planning on organising an Australia-wide only edition of the tournament. If you would like to take part or sponsor the event, please get in touch with us to assist in planning.
***Important*** - WE NEED YOUR HELP (REALLY!!)
While we try to minimise our calls for money, and understand the hard times that many in society are facing today, one of the unfortunate realities of the current situation is that many enterprises have been affected - without having been able to plan for the unforeseen scenario. Our club is not eligible for any form of Government assistance, even though we are a registered not-for-profit organisation. While we have very few costs, we are still required to make monthly payments associated with our online infrastructure and to meet our legal obligations. All money made by the club is pumped back to you, our members, and to improve our match-day experience - which is very hard given the time-zone differences between the countries and kick-off times. Unfortunately because of the unforeseen cancellation of our only revenue-raising method - our events - we need to make use of our other revenue streams. Think, that - for only $25 - you are single-handedly able to assist the club in meeting half of its monthly expenses.
Let's continue to represent Milan on the world stage, and spread the Rossoneri colours in Australia. Having a Milan Club in Melbourne is not to be taken for granted - and is not magic either! We are only able to continue thanks to the generosity and support of our great members (listed at the bottom of this section), and countless hours of hard-work from our Committee Members:
- Tass Dimitroulis - Treasurer
- Luke Brusco - Marketing Manager
- Shady Moussa - Media Manager
- Loris Maranzan - Merchandise Manager
- Daniel Richards - Secretary and Events Manager
