Match Preview: Spezia-Milan, 13-02-2021

After the great win against Crotone, Milan face another promoted club, Spezia, with aim of opening a gap with the direct rivals in Inter-Lazio and Napoli-Juventus. Milan and Spezia faced each other only two times in their history, in Coppa Italia in 2014 and in Serie A last October, with the devils scoring three goals in each game.

During the week, Bennacer and Kjaer trained with the group, the Algerian recovered from the bronchitis that kept him away from the Crotone game and he will start alongside Kessie. The Danish defender will probably start but Pioli is considering Tomori after his last good performances. Dalot will take Calabria’s place, who is suspended. Leao will start on the left, with Ibrahimovic and Saelemaekers to complete the attack. Calhanoglu is back on the field, with the 2 assists during the Crotone game, the Turkish served so far 7 assists in Serie A since the beginning of December and his presence will be fundamental for the team in the next matches.

Spezia are living a dream; after an unexpected promotion, nobody would have bet a dollar on them but they have gained 21 points so far, playing good football. The majority of these points, 15/21, were gained away, while the Liguri have only gained 29% (6/21), at home. In the midfield there will be Tommaso Pobega, the Rossonero loanee, who is playing a good season and this match will be a good chance to show his potential to Maldini and the board. Agudelo and Gyasi will probably support Verde instead of Galabinov, while the former rossonero Saponara will start from the bench.
