Marvellous Milanisti: Sebastiano Rossi

Sebastiano Rossi, Milan's Hall of Fame goalkeeper, was born in 1964. After starting his professional career with his hometown club Cesena in 1982, he signed for il Diavolo in 1990. Playing behind legends like Baresi, Maldini, Costacurta and Tassotti, Rossi was an integral part of Milan's all-conquering dream team of the 90s. During his 12 years with the Rossoneri, "Seba" made a total of 330 appearances, winning 5 Scudetti, the Champions League in 1994 and numerous other titles. In the 93/94 season, he set a Serie A record for the longest run without conceding a goal, keeping a clean sheet for 929 minutes. The record stood for over 20 years until Gigi Buffon, after numerous attempts, broke it in 2016. Rossi eventually handed the Rossoneri goalkeeping mantle to Christian Abbiati in 1999. He left Milan in 2002 for one last hurrah with Perugia and retired at the end of the 2002/03 season.
