Flashback Friday - The Red & Black Mamba

With it being his birthday, how could we look past this iconic Milanista, Kobe Bryant. At the age of 6 Kobe moved to Rieti with his family as his father played professional basketball in the Italian League. It was here that Kobe developed his key fundamental skills on the court and learnt to speak Italian fluently, but most importantly to us, his devout love for AC Milan. He grew up in the purple patch of our club with the Dutch trio, Baresi and the birth of maldini. His idol growing up was none other than Marco Van Basten, a man who influenced the way he played basketball and shaped who he is today. Kobe left Italy to head back to the states in 1991 at age 14, equiped to take on the world.
