YOUTH UPDATE 11/05/20
With speculation of Ralf Rangnick taking over the reigns at Milan mounting by the day, we thought we'd take a look on how he would influence the clubs youth system.
Ralf Rangnick is regarded as a football mastermind in Germany, having long been renowned for enforcing strong youth development at his clubs. This has seen him pull clubs like 1899 Hoffenheim, Schalke 04 and RB Leipzig to the top of the Bundesliga table.
When questioned about youth academies, Rangnick stated he aspires to have every level of a club performing at it's best. He went on to explain that part of doing this is providing the right infrastructure, talent and on-site support from qualified individuals to youth players.
Rangnick believes that 15-16 year old players have 3 advantages over older players. The first is that they recover fast. The second is that they have an extremely high capacity to learn. The third is their unwavering team ethic. He believes that these three advantages can help any team as long as the young players are surrounded by a healthy environment (possibly something that's been lacking at Milan of late).
With fate seemingly against current manager Stefano Pioli, is it only a matter of time before Rangnick's strategies make their way to Milanello?
