The Derby della Madonnina never ceases to disappoint and has indeed given us some memorable moments over the years. Any derby win is satisfying, but this one is my most memorable.

It was April 2nd 2011 as these city rivals took to the pitch as a sea of Rossoneri and Nerazzurri fans surrounded the San Siro stadium. It was a top of the table clash. Both teams had such determination and it looked like it would decide the title, and indeed it did.

Milan came out strong and dominated the contest. They set the tone of the game very early as Robinho took a shot that was saved by Julio Cesar. But Alexandre Pato was in the right place at the right time as he got the rebound, and one touch later took a strike from outside the box putting the ball into the back of the net only just 42 seconds after kick off.

In the 62nd minute of play the Rossoneri fight to get the ball and struck on the counter as Abate crosses the ball from the right into the box and meets Pato as he headers the ball into the bottom left corner of the net putting us 2-0 up.

Inter were trying their hardest to to get back into the game at any chance possible. And then in the 88th minute of play a penalty is conceded by Javier Zanetti as he commits a foul on Antonio Cassano in the box. Cassano then converts the penalty into a goal which then finishes the game at a 3-0 win to the Rossoneri.

That was the year the Rossoneri would go on to win our 18th scudetto.
